About the Boat

There is an inverter on board so you can charge your phones/tablets. The inverter will not take things like hairdryers/straighteners/curling tongs however, so leave them at home and let the warm sea breezes style your hair!

The stereo has a plug so you can connect your iPod or mp3 player to listen to music. Full inventory, at boats description.

Internet

If you are desperate to stay connected we have WI-FI Hubs available to use onboard with pre-paid internet bundles. Please pre book this with us before you arrive. The local cafes & tavernas usually have free wifi for you to use as well.
There is good mobile phone coverage throughout the Ionian & 4G is widely available. Always check with your provider the current European tariffs.

Onboard each of our charter yachts is a manual. This is an all round guide to your yacht with information you will need to know as well as tonnes of information you may find useful. You’ll also receive a boat briefing from one of our team before your departure to cover all the details with you in person.

Provisions

A basic starter pack is provided onboard (cleaning products, bin bags, kitchen roll, toilet roll). If you want to set sail and depart the base quickly, we are happy to get more provisions for you; just send us a list and a budget!
There’s a small well-stocked supermarket just across from the quay, with a chemist next door and a bakery further down the road. If you have any specific dietary requirements we can help get you the supplies you need. The larger supermarkets in Nidri town (35 minute walk away) now sell a selection of gluten/lactose free products; if you are unsure if they’ll have what you need, just ask and we can investigate.

Bed linen and towels will be provided but you may wish to bring your own beach towels (extra linen/towels available at extra cost).

There are no hidden costs during your booking process. The water tanks will be full and you can return with them empty. However, with average use they need to be refilled every few days, so factor this in when planning your route.

Diesel is full when you arrive and then paid for when you return to our quay, ensuring you are only paying for what you have used. If you are out for more than a week or do a lot of motoring you may need to refuel before, so again plan this into your route.

If you fancy a SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) for the duration of your holiday then we work with a local company that can provide this hassle free, just let us know to pre book it and put you in touch.

If you decide to go to a port that has Port Police or a Marina then you may have to pay for docking overnight, however this usually then includes use of some facilities, particularly in marinas.

If you are on a bareboat charter then credit card details are taken as a security deposit; however no money is charged to your card unless the security deposit is required (maximum charge of €1500)

When you arrive your boat will be on the quay opposite Vliho Yacht Club. You may wish to grab a bite to eat and some drinks at the club before you depart, or if you like we can bring these over to you onboard your yacht for you to enjoy whilst you settle in.

Returning back to us

On the day of your departure, we ask you vacate the boat promptly before 10.00am (the cleaning process now takes longer!)
One of the team will complete the handover with you and collect your completed maintenance form, health & route logs.
Please remove all rubbish, bins are located alongside the quay opposite the Yacht Club. Place all your used yacht linen in the bags provided.

General Info

Skippers: Please bring your original Sailing certificate with you. If the Port Police do spot checks and you don’t have it, then you will be fined.

If you need any help with your Greek travel arrangements or information on ferries/buses/taxis, then please ask! We are happy to book taxis for you, adhering to social distancing policy with regards to seating arrangements and use of the appropriate PPE. Masks MUST be worn It’s also helpful for us to know when to expect your arrival, so please send us your travel plans / flight details (both ways).

Don’t forget to pack hats, sunglasses, sun cream and mosquito repellent. We advise having straps on hats and sunglasses to stop them falling over board and bringing sun cream and repellent with you, however you can buy these locally. We have our own Vliho Yacht Club tee shirts available to buy in a variety of colours & love to see your photos wearing them around the world!

In early and late season, mornings and evenings can be a little chilly so bring some light weight trousers/jumpers/jackets. There is also more chance of rain so lightweight waterproofs are also advised.

There’s no space for storage of hard suitcases on a yacht so we advise that you pack in soft bags that are easier to stash away onboard.

Don’t forget if you are on a skippered charter… please feed and water the captain now and again!
